DOCUMENTED SURVEILLANCE / PUBLIC VISIBILITY

Know what watches
the street.

An independent public index of documented camera systems. Every entry should lead back to its evidence, its last check, and its current verification state.

01 / PUBLIC INDEX

The map

Explore city-level counts of publicly documented ALPR reports. Each point marks a city area, never an individual camera location.

The current feed contains mapped ALPR reports in indexed cities; other camera-type filters will remain empty until a reviewed source is added. A point marks a city area, not an individual installation. A blank result does not show that no cameras are present. See source coverage and licensing.

02 / HOW THE INDEX WORKS

Make the record
traceable.

A

Public sources

The first feed is a licensed, city-level derivative of public OpenStreetMap reports. No access controls are bypassed to collect information.

B

Visible uncertainty

Automated refresh is not the same as human verification. Each record shows its state and last check.

C

Change history

Additions and source-backed changes are retained. A camera missing from a feed is not automatically called removed.

03 / WHAT THE HARDWARE CAN RECORD

Different sensors.
Different evidence.

01 / ALPR

Vehicle and trip records

Flock describes its ALPR records as plate images, vehicle characteristics, timestamps, and camera-location identifiers. Repeated observations can form a record of where a vehicle was seen; this site never collects plate reads or vehicle histories.

02 / SIGNAL INTELLIGENCE

Wireless signals are a separate layer

Leonardo markets ELSAG SignalTrace as a sensor system that detects device signals—including Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and RFID—and can correlate recurring device patterns with LPR data when present. The company says it does not read device contents. This is a distinct product capability, not a claim about every ALPR camera or every mapped site.

03 / VERIFY BEFORE CLAIMING

Presence needs evidence

Radar and traffic sensors are different equipment categories; their presence alone does not prove Bluetooth collection. Flock Uprising lists a capability or site only when a cited public record supports it. A city-level count does not identify a device at a particular pole.
